Oh yes... I always forget about this topic, they always seem to come back up every year or two.... good on you Andrew for starting it again!

Yes indeed the Avengers looks awesome! Next year seems like the year for films... Batman, The Hobbit, Avengers, Expendables 2, new Alien prequel film.... its gonna be a big movie year!

But, films I want to see and are coming out soon.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Based on the best selling novel, David Fincher's amazingness, combined with Daniel Craig's solid acting ability, throw in a sound track by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and you are gonna have an awesome film.

Drive. I am super keen to see this film... It has been out in the US for a while now, and most of the reviews have been pretty positive. Apparently its ultra violent, slow, and more like a dream sort of state, rather then your conventional 'Fast and the Furious' style car action film. I have really dug the director's (Nicolas Winding Refn) previous films, 'Bronson' and 'Valhalla Rising', he has a very interesting style of film making. The cast also looks superb! I cant wait to see this.

Killer Elite. I love a good Jason Statham film. He seems to be the only guy to be keeping the Action Hero flame alive! This time he brings along Robert DeNiro, and Clive Owen to the mix. The story looks paper thin, but I am sure it can make up for it with ridiculous ammounts of action!

2 Foreign films that look sooo awesome.... I really want to see them!

The Raid. From Indoneisa, it looks like some total badass action. And nice and simple plot: "A SWAT team that becomes trapped in a tenement run by a ruthless mobster, armed with two highly violent martial arts killers and an army of machete-swinging, machine gun-toting dealers and thugs."

I Saw the Devil. From Korea, A secret agent tracks a serial killer who murdered his fiancée. It seems like a dark brooding revenge film, which I assume will have plenty of violence and twists along the way.

I'm really pumped for "In Time", starring Justin Timberlake. He seems to be a decent actor, and the premise is cool, too; basically, everyone stops ageing at 25, and this is because people get paid in time, purchase things using time, and when your time runs out, you die... Therefore, the rich people are immortal, and the poor die young. That's as much as I got from the ad, anyway. :D

I'll accept that.

I just saw an ad on TV for a new movie, kinda a bit tired now to remember the name... sorry.... but the concept goes like this:-

'Everyone in the world is stamped with some kind of clock that counts down 25years and when it runs out you die (dunno why really but from the gist it seem like a population control for a Utopian society). Somehow, through the magic of holywood, explosions and gun fights you can add time back onto your life'.

Gotta say thats got me hooked!

I know its not a movie... but a new Trailer for Diablo III was relased a couple of days ago... Man I love the Blizzard cinematic cut scenes, they are just so beautiful to look at. And there are some pretty cool looking creatures also!

Oh, that makes me want to start playing Diablo...

I need to install it and so on, but I've never played it before

Found this today: Chronicle. Looks like an indie film about teenagers learning they have powers, and a recording of them as they develop them:

What about Prometheus! A prequel to the Alien franchise, set in the same universe detailing the origins of the original space ship the crew find in the first Alien movie, ie: the one with the Space Jockey and Xenomorph eggs. Oh also directed by Ridley Scott, and his first film in 3D and first Sci-Fi film since Alien.

Um.... awesome! Maybe too awesome! :P
