Im not sold on many new sculpts.

Its why i sold off most of my malifaux collection.

However, the driftwood basing.accessories are awesome!

Perfect for what I have planned...

Turns out there there are already April releases being previewed. I see a repeat of a Swamp Mother style base. Have to say that I see Mark's point on that one. Feet would have been better.

I like the effigies, even if the Carrion effigy is a bit more stretched out than expected.

Nicodem looks like a mobile Sophet Drahas - I might get him just for the sheer ... well, zombie factor :).

...a mobile cartoon Sophet Drahas!

This range has a very strong style of its own, which is a great thing, as long as you like it. Personally, I can't stand it. Every time I see a new release it reinforces how much I don't like it. I've been trying for months to work out what it is about this style of sculpting that I really don't like and haven't quite put my finger on it. I think they are just too cartoony, something to do with the proportions... It's not subject matter, like some other minis (space marines), but is definitely related to the sculpting. Ah well, I'm glad other people like them. Variety is the spice ...and all that.

The original figures were aimed at a very different market than the current range.

Flat paintjobs I'm more inclined towards thinking are the main problem. Although there are some truely unimaginative, and poorly executed sculpts here and there. Certainly not a fan of those water ones.

I have a feeling whoever sculpted Alt. McMourning did Avatar Lilith and Avatar Sonnia as well. They all have similar hairstyle...

June releases:

Before anyone mentions it, yes, he is listed earlier, but there were casting problems so his release got pushed back

Image

Announced for July:
Avatar Collette
Warden
Blessed of December
Alternate Executioner
Malifaux 1.5 Core Rulebook
Retro Fate Deck (Plastic)

Announced for August:

Lazarus (Plastic)
Asian Zen 30mm
Asian Zen 40mm
Asian Zen 50mm
Asian Zen Accessories
Terraclips, Dungeon Rise: Dungeon Essentials
Terraclips, Dungeon Rise: Vaults of Ruin
Terraclips, Dungeon Rise: Prison of the Forsaken

As for other news, there was a recent Gamers Lounge episode where they spoke to Eric from Wyrd about their upcoming stuff. Puppet Wars is be re-released with more minis (multiple pawns are being added to the box), now in plastic with a larger board, better counters, and better box, for a lower cost (IE. Fix the big things that people saw as wrong with the original release). The 4th book is coming out a Gencon, and most of the stuff from the book will be available there early. From the sounds of things, it will mainly contain Ten Thunders models, and a new faction. The 1.5 rules mentioned above are the original ruleset, updated to include the errata, and also has the fluff and pieces that haven't been able to be bought from the original rules in a while. There are also plans to have story packs with plastic miniatures. From what I understand that is so they can introduce a new story element and new models/characters, but don't have to release an entire book for a new part of the story.

Turns out I have one of my gaming buddies watching this thread, and prodding me on Facebook to update it :)

And they have also announced that they are moving to plastic (hard plastic, not plasti-resin) with digital sculpts, showing these new products due out around Gencon for first grabs:

On top of that, they just started a kickstarter today for a card game they are starting, Evil Baby Orphanage:

Mr. Graves is rather cool, and I like the concept to model of him. Plus he's Neverborn, so I can shoehorn him into my crew :D

The Gencon specials came out the other day as well:

Image

The Hanging Trees, the 'Nightmare edition' of the year. From what they have said, the main tree is about 122mm tall.

Image

The $100 or more order figure for over the Gencon figure. Works as an alternate Death Marshall.

Image

This is an alternate to the Santiago Ortega model, and is for the henchmen (Wyrd supporters that run tourneys etc) only at the moment, with a view to being able to get it through some channels in the future.

Also, Eric posted this on his blog showing some new plastics on his desk. New puppets on the right (Hooded Rider and Pokey Vic can be spotted in there), and some of the new plastics above on the right. The Hungering Darkness stands out fairly well:

The Gencon part of the store opened earlier today, and they have some of these models which have had sneak peaks over the past week or so:

These were previewed but weren't up to quality, so they have been delayed:
