Hey everyone!

I am so excited for this! I am returning to Oz in June to hold round 2 of classes in the Melbourne area. I am partnering with Game Lab this time around.

Here is the event info on Facebook

Join me and the crew at Games Laboratory in Melbourne for a 2 day Master Class! This is gonna be amazing! You don't want to miss out! I can take up to 25 people for the class! I recommend registering as soon as possible!

Another class at The Hall of Heroes for the Sydney area is now live as well! That will be the beginning of June. We already have seats book so please let me know if you are interested in attending.

I am returning to Oz for a month to teach another round of classes!

The classes include the following:

For USD$225/person the students will receive a mini to paint and 16 hours of instruction with me, an award winning and internationally recognized miniature painter!

Day 1 will cover:
Miniature Cleaning and Prep
Proper Priming Techniques
2 Brush Blending (a quick and efficient technique for smooth blends)
Painting Faces and Eyes.
Color Theory

Day 2 will cover:
Hair and Fur
Skintones
OSL (glowy bits)
Freehand
Basing materials
True Metallic Metals

I recommend students bring the following with them:

Painting lamp
P3 paints (if you have them, they are best for 2 Brush Blending)
Raphael Kaerell Synthetic Rounds sizes 2 and 3 (synthetic brushes) for blending
Winsor & Newton Series 7 size 2 Brush for details
Dry well palette
Sketchbook and pen for note taking
Hair dryer (at least a couple for the class to share)
Files
Super glue
Hobby knife
Other minis to practice techniques on
White Spray Primer

In order to reserve a space in the class you can send USD$50 as a deposit to hold your seat to arcanepaintworks@gmail.com through Paypal. I will confirm payment and record your name on a list. Then you can bring the rest in AUD the day of.

I would like to get as many students registered by the end of May as possible. Please let me know if you are interested!

While I'm not able to make the Sydney one, I did go to the workshop earlier in the year. and found it to be brilliant. I picked up heaps of great information, and I'm still finding things months later that I picked up at the event, but didn't fully realise. Meg is great at getting the information across in the courses, and makes sure everyone understands why and how techniques are being used.

norwestie-hit me up. We need to plan something for Auckland in December or January.

Anyone else interested in the Sydney class? So far, it's only Jay and he is flying in! Surely there have to be SOME Sydney painters out there wanting to learn some cool new stuff? I even show people how to make piss, jizz and blood effects. That's gotta count for something!

On a serious note, if anyone is interested please get in touch with me. I am trying to figure out if there is enough interest to go ahead with a class. I need to get word to Hall of Heroes if there isn't.

Have you tried posting on the Fansite for Games Workshop Facebook page? Sami Lynn is the moderator, and I'm sure she'll be happy to help advertise your workshop.

The other alternative is perhaps a more central location? Campbelltown is pretty far out. If you could land a place at the Good Games in the CBD itself, you may be able to draw a larger crowd. Admittedly, though, the Good Games crowd seems to be more gamers than painters.

Or you could get yourself a private venue. Perhaps one of the OzPainters may be willing to volunteer their place? My place, for instance, could accommodate up to 30 people, but you'd have to contend with a very curious 20 month old monster.

I will not be changin locations as Hall of Heroes is already committed to the class. Besides, you can travel a little bit to come to this class. I am traveling several thousand miles to come teach it.

Just making suggestions to try and boost your numbers, Meg. I'm already aware of your feelings towards traveling for the hobby, so no real need to remind me of it.

Kelvin-yeah, it just seems silly to me that people won't travel an hour outside the city or to the other side of the city (trust me, each location I proposed on the first trip was met with push back in the Sydney group). And that's the real issue, no matter what location I choose at least one person will tell me it's too far.

I figured HoH would be a good location again after the first class as well as that is where the Sydney OzPainter meet up happens once a month. Seemed to make sense to hold it in the same location.

Maybe at the next Ozpainters meet we pass out some info about the class.

Yay! Deposit paid.

I'm excited. Can't wait to see what model we get to tackle this time.
