if you put a couple pennies under your sponge or whatever it will keep it from molding.

my two cents

also I use baking paper and I soke it in hot water for 10 minutes then put on the pallet and use a aponge to clear away the excess water and it works perfect. I can keep paint for a few weeks no problem and it does not tear or leak through the paper.
