Hi All, Thought I'd create a thread in here to get the ball rolling.. it was a really great day with some excellent entries in the Wyrd painting competition (well done to all those who took the time to paint up entries, especially those who posted from interstate - there were some fantastic entries).. A HUGE thankyou to Trevor who took the time to organise this comp and thanks to Trevor, Seb and Andrew for judging it. Here are a few shots that were taken on the day, plus just a couple of some of the mini's that were brought along to show. Shots of the entries will follow soon. Photos of the day: OzPainters!

Great Photoshop work there Steve! And yes, I had my Oz Painters Shirt on. So did Andrew and Steve. Dissapointing that Seb went for the Legio Pictorum shirt over the Oz Painters one...... Oz Painters Represent! |

Firstly a big thank you to everyone who entered, prize support is based on numbers, so the more who entered the better. The judges Andrew (Numbat), Sebastian (Automaton) and myself will give some more detailed feedback later, so you can see the thought process behind the decisions, but here are the positions. 1st Jamie Dalzell (Sir JD) Ramos under a lamp 2nd Steve (Panzer) Baby Kade digging up teddy 3rd Bevan (Paintingploddy) Mortimer fending off the undead 1st was pretty unaminous, there were some differences of opinion on the others, with Jamie Downard and Sean also in contention for a place. Funky prizes: These were to allow everyone a chance to win something. The 'weirdest' mini: Cam (Krank) with a great Mad Hatter, freaky colours and a lovely base with playing cards. Basing: Sean (ShGray?) for his funky industrial base for Nicodemus. Female: Kurt (AngentMolar) for his anime styled Victoria. I need to contact Wyrd to organise prizes for the top 3, but its basically Wyrd minis. You also get a little Wyrd Tombstone trophy from me (so I guess this was the Golden Tombstone). The funky prizes will be from me. Just give me a few days to get organised. We took pics and I'll get them up as soon as I can. Thanks again to everyone who entered. |

Congratulations to the winners and a round of applause to Trevor for organising the event. I look forward to seeing all the entries as well as comments from the judges. By the way, those flyers look very professional. |
