Huge congratulations to Roman Lappat for winning the Slayer Sword with his diorama, brilliant stuff.

I can't wait to see better pics of these, especially that Slayer winning diorama!

Apparently around 130 figures went into that diorama.
There seems to be a story coming out that some other entrant didn't agree with the choice of winner and voiced his opinion with some vigour!

yeah there was the typical GD 'why/how did that win?!"

I read that they booed Roman as he was on stage getting his award but another place getter.... poor form. I cant wait to see bigger pics and close ups of the dio. It looks insanely great

I mean we can all agree, that obviously painting that many figures mean it is not going to be of the same quality of paintwork of other works, such as single minis and dioramas or duels with only a few figures... but what Roman has done is amazing. he not only has had the patience to paint that many figures and follow through with the project,... but also he has pretty much created a diorama that has the exact feel of a GW illustration. something that I feel is very rare on large scale dioramas. So for GW imagery alone I think its worth the Slayer.
