Its an upright unit, all glass except for the base, about 6 foot tall.
It's from a BMW car dealership.....we store a lot of their gear, so I've been told I can borrow it. It's even got lights!

OK guys approximately 4 weeks to go :D
Need to start thinking about whether we have everything organised. Things like the questionnaire......are we happy with it, does it need changing at all?
At the moment it looks like we have 2 tables which is terrific, should be plenty of room for everyone, if everyone turns up that is  We have 1 display cabinet, I'm having no luck getting a second one at this stage, but I'll keep plugging away.
Can anyone think of anything I've missed?

-Tony

I can bring my 2 small ones if that helps. It'd mean some mini transfer operations but no major drama. How about another 'council of war' at Mind Games or a handy pub? Maybe next week at some stage?
There is one minor risk to my attendance on the day (sick dog who's only a few weeks to go) but I'm looking forward to it greatly.
We probably should plan what we're each bringing too and see how space is shaping up in terms of the display. How many models would the cabinet hold do you reckon Tony?

OK the glass case is 1200mm high, 450mm square with 4 useable glass shelves. It sits on top of a wooden plinth that is about 400mm high.
It's a great piece, really wish I could keep it :?
I guess each shelf could hold a fair few 28mm single models, but when you start talking about bigger stuff and duels, etc, space will be limited.
I'd sort of thought about putting bigger stuff down the bottom and smaller up top.
Do we still want to do the name plaques for the mini's to say who painted them, I think we should? Or maybe we can dedicate one shelf per person............open to suggestions here. :)

Cool!

So we have 45 x 45 on each shelf roughly. I thing you should be able to get half a dozen models on each face quite comfortably and, if we place bigger ones towards the centre we should be able to get 20-30 models per shelf (say 110 models total). That should just about do it I reckon.
The little tags are a good idea. I was thinking it might be better to make them a small, flat sheet that the model stands on so it doesn't use up space. It'll make the inner ones tricky to read but it should be OK.
Are we going to have a 'massed Demons' display :D If so they should probably sit on the workbench rather than in the cabinet. An alternative would be to have a little pic of a demon on the card with the model so people know which models scored. I've a representative of each colour at home so it wouldn't be hard to photograph them and pop them on the cards.
I'm happy to do the artwork for the cards. Just type up your model details in MS Word and email them to me.
I'm for mixing the models up a bit rather than having great clumps of each painter.

Had an idea :!:
In order to view the inner miniatures better on each shelf I'm going to make up little clear perspex pyramids to raise up the mini's. :D
I cut all the material on the factory machine this afternoon and I'll assemble them tonight. Once they're done I'll post some piccies so you can see what I'm rambling about. 8)

The pyramis is a good idea. Look forward to seeing how they turn out. I'm also in favour of the massing of Demons. I can bask in the reflected glory that way

I've read through the questionnaire and can't think of any changes/alterations/further questions.

In relation to a meeting, I'm back working in Melbourne next week and the week after. They should both be suitable for me.

Yoiks!
I suppose in a worst case scenario we can just pop the models on display on the tables
I've hunted around a bit and haven't found a cabinet yet. I'll start to look more closely now...

It's looking increasingly unlikely that I'll be able to attend either Little Wars or OzPainters painting days until at least the middle of June when almost the last of my workload is submitted. It's coming up to the end of semester for me - a time when uni truly grows fangs... :(

I've found out today that I'm committed to a family function. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to live with myself if I don't go to the function so I'm going to have to bail. I may have five minutes to drop by but don't think I will - It'll just rub in what I am missing.

Sorry
