Well I got the forgeworld pilot done, still working on trying to get the ork nob done in time, will have to see how he goes.

Obviously he's not my usual style, I've gone for pretty realistic WW2 British pilot colours which are pretty subdued, and tried a few different techniques in the skin and lighting.

Any feedback is welcome to get him right for Saturday.

He looks fantastic. I can't think of anyway to improve him. The metals look terrific, as well as the glowing light on the pack he is carrying. The base looks good as well.

Its very good, nothing really to say, other than some of the highlighting could be a smoother, but then thats true for most people. Nice to see something slightly different from you.

Automaton: those painted pics on the (Heroquest) box were awesome! I looked at them as virtually an unattainable goal in painting, haha...

He's so tiny it was hard to keep things very smooth. I followed Arrch's advice as told to him by Jeremie and darkened up the back side of the base to bring more attention to the front.

Now on to the Ork who is still a bit WIP but I think I will get finished tonight since I got all the fiddly armour and most of the skin out of the way. Still needs more highlights on the arms.

Great pilot and I love the orc. They really are great miniatures, the one I have in the wip was a test project for my medium warhammer 40k single miniature.

Nice, the ork is looking great, especially like the shoulder pads.

I like the look of the pilot, the skin looks great, do you mind if i ask what technique/colours you used for it?

(I now have the dambusters theme going through my head)

He's absolutely gorgeous! Love it to bits - really must get around to painting up my one eventually.

All the best for the competition!

The WW2 colours you used on the pilot complement the sculpt very well.

I love the yellow armour on the Ork, its so vibrant. The texture on his black vest is a nice touch too. Thats a 40mm base he's on isn't it? The funny thing is it looks more appropriate than a 20mm. The Orks seem to get bigger with each new edition of 40k.

Thanks everybody, how did everyone go today?

Aquilla ah the skin, tricky to describe. I was listening to Sebastion describing the face on that famous halfling mini he has and tried out a few of the techniques. Started with tanned flesh then went over that with bronzed flesh mixed with white and some greyish green then washes of tanned flesh, scab red, some purple I think. Whitish highlights etc. Trying to get this difference between cool and warm tones.
