Yeah, I think we should repaint our own models from ages ago.
I've found mine already, It's a metal LoTR cave troll, I suppose I painted it about 3 years ago, I was very proud of that model when I first painted it, but as time goes by (hopefully) my painting has improved.
It's painted at around what I'd class as tabletop standard, so it's not completely bad. Anyway, let the fun begin.

I will repaint a space marine veteran I did back in 94...

How about "cleaning out the closet" for a name?

Here's a potential I dug up. Painted over 20 years ago in Humbrol Enamels. It's an old GW models "Tanglebones" from the Melnibonean Range.

Chosen quite deliberately 'cos he's really quite a nice mini and is simple enough to do quite quickly (by my glacial standards)

He's quite a nice figure. I like the face a lot. I've got a couple of Vor figures that put the idea in my head.

Sounds like fun. I'll have to see what figs I can dig up. I have a bunch of GW LOTR figs. Whichever one I choose will have to be stripped because I was using artists acrylics at the time and the paint is way too thick.

Let´s see if I understand this:

I pick a mini, take a picture and post it on cmon. I post a link here to the mini on cmon (in this thread or somehwere else?)

I repaint the mini and post it again on cmon (one week later), and once again post a link here.

Nosferatu publishes everything on his site and after a while we see who's got the biggest difference in score on cmon?

Right?

Pretty much. I don't think you need to post the new paint job in a week though. I know mine won't be done that fast! Just when you get it done and are happy with it.

I can steal the photos from CMoN for my site, so if you post a link to the old mini here I can grab it. I really just need the CMoN image ID number.

It would also be good (as Mr Ploddy mentioned) to start a thread about your new paint job in the WIP section.

It would also be really good if people could give an approximate year for the initial paintjob.

Angora: An interesting figure, it'll be good to see how he comes up. Make sure you post a link to him on CMoN so I can grab it.

So, any more suggestions for a name? (since people didn't seem to like 'OzPainter ImproveOmeter' ) I can start putting the webpage together as soon as we have a decision on this.

I have mine picked out as well and I will post it in the next couple of days. It is part of an old space marine army I painted over 10 years ago and was one of the first miniatures I painted with acrylic paint. The army has been sold off over the years and this is one of the few I have left. I do have a couple of older miniatures painted in enamels but I have kept these as reminders of what I used to paint like (only have 3 examples left).

I like the OzPainter ImproveOmeter as a name. I'll start a new thread in the Painting Section of everyone to post their starting figure.

Is it ok to use copies of the same cast? for example I have a shadow warror I painted years ago, and I have the another identical cast but is unpainted. It's the oldest I can find and I'd rather not strip it (mainly because its annoying to strip minis as I don't have anything to do it with). I wouldn't say this was cheating but unless people are really, really opposed to this I'll do just paint the copy.

nah there's no difference between stripping an old mini and painting a new one...
