Now I usually don’t rant much but last night really #issed me off. :x There was a house party two doors down, now the party isn’t the issue at all but having drunk people continually wander up and down your street and in cars is just not on. The “house” party could barely be called that as most of the youths involved were in the street and in and out of cars. At one point I had to kick people off my property as they thought it was ok to sit in my driveway (actually on the the property /next to my car-which I did end up moving ) and drink/smoke. I will say it did all stop before 12 which was good but the fact it happened at all is annoying. So this morning I started the good all lawn mower up at 10 and tried to make a bit of noise. What is funny while everybodies else’s place had a can or two on the nature strip mine had a skateboard. Nice find really.

Free transport! Maybe next time you'll get a bike or something like that!

I figure if everyone is ranting here, so will I. I'm aiming it at Westfields Chatswood. I went out last night for a work function, and because I don't drink, I drove over there. I had about three cars behind me when I got into the parking garage, so didn't have time to read the rules etc. But nothing seemed out of the ordinary (And at this point I will note I am not too used to paid car parks) until my friends and I tried to get back to the car at 1am. From what we can figure, about 5 minutes before we got there, the entire place was locked down. So we had to get a taxi back to Ryde, and one of the guys volunteered to drive me back today to get my car. But because I wasn't able to get up this morning and go and do all the things I had planned originally in the morning, my day is out of whack!

How hard is it to put a sign near the costs saying when you close? I've been in others with bright yellow signs saying they close at 4am and things like that, so why not there? The worrying thing for me was that it wasn't actually locked up securely. It would have been possible to jump a railing and get to my car last night, but not get it out. So today going over there, I was half-expecting to find my car broken into when I got there as it had been unattended for so long!

Argh! OK. I'm done...

If I remember right, there's a sign with parking costs and the closing time of the parking lot right when you drive down the ramp to the carpark. It's been a whole year since I was last there, so my memory's a bit fuzzy.

Big sign near the ticket machine has the prices, and the bottom half has the terms and conditions which follow on to another sign. I had a quick look again today when I was going in there, and couldn't see a mention of a closing time. I'm sure it will be on there somewhere, but not in what I could see as an obvious place. And when there are cars waiting to get in behind you, you aren't likely to stop and check. I figure that if other places can make it obvious, why not Westfields?

So how much did it cost when you got the car back? When that happened to me many years ago it cost about $70.00 to get the car back in the morning.

I once had a parking lockup near Darling Harbour lock my car in... over an hour earlier than the sign-appointed time...

Bastards then tried to charge me an overnight fee to release it.

I simply waited for a tennant from the building to come for their vehicle and followed them out.

Hope the bastard who got called out arrived and waited around for noone...

Maximum daily charge/lost ticket is $40. I hit lost ticket as I figured it would either cost me the $40 anyway for the amount of time I was there, or would try to charge me for two days ($80). By the time I got to the machine, I wasn't planning on sticking around longer. I just wanted to get out.

My wife and I had the same problem one night for our anniversary dinner. We got locked in and it would have been a $150 dollar fee to get our car out. Weird carpark. Closed the exit at 12am, but the entrance was still open. I worked out that driving a Barina is an advantage when you can get your missus to lift up the boom gate just enough to allow the car through. Felt like Lando Calrissian escaping the DeathStar as we flew up and out the entrance ramp to the main street.

Yeeehaaaaaaa

Welcome to every friday night in brighton (not an exaggeration). Over the last couple of years, whoever is in charge of public housing has decided to build lots of little crowded units for the homeless (mainly dole bludgers) on the blocks of land that I used to kick a footy on, this place is filling up with single Mums with kids in there mid-teens who smoke, drink and do drugs. (Gagebrook v2.0  - or Ravenswood for northerners)

Rant 2: Back to school tomorrow...

The similar image above came with an 'interview' of the women, asking them why they still walk a few paces behind their husband, even after their liberation. The short and simple answer was: "Landmines."

:D
