Hi guys,

As a heap of you already know, I sculpted a couple of figures for Knight Models a little earlier in the year, ooh exciting! And now that they have been officially released, I guess it's ok to post the sculpts here in public :) The coolest part of the job was the fact that pics of the finished sculpts had to be sent off to Lucas Arts for approval, which is kinda cool in a geeky way, eh! haha....a brush with the evil empire!

Anyway, obviously most of the main characters had already been done, waaah   So the characters I got were minor players: Ki-Adi-Mundi and Shaak Ti, they're both Jedi council members I think, and hey, they may be minor, but they appeared in the movies at least 8)

Here they are - they're both 32mm. Ki-Adi-Mundi was sculpted with super sculpey firm and procreate/milliput mixes, but Shaak Ti was an experiment with a different polymer clay called 'Uro', which is slightly more elastic and 'sticky' than super sculpey firm.

Don't sell yourself cheap, mate! These are 2 very iconic characters and not only have you captured this, but the sculpting is par excellence once again. Beautiful cloth and the usual Jedi simplicity. Top!

Thanks Nicolay :)

Yeah Nick (turelio) was telling me a while back that Ki-Adi-Mundi has some sort of a cult following or 'fanclub' haha, but I had no idea...! I'm not the biggest Star Wars officianado - I know a bit, seen all the movies of course, but I've never read any of those books or anything...and I admit I wasn't sure who Ki-Adi-Mundi was until I saw the pics they sent me, hehe ;)

haha I love Ki Adi Mundi, I usually run some star wars RPG and now im going to have to get these to add to my gamers minis pile.... Although I'll likely to get 2 of Ki Adi Mundi to do a nice display piece of him as the sculpt is perfect, an iconic character in an iconic pose I guess.

The gaming one may be a dark jedi or sith.... hmm... red lightsabre.... nice lighting effects evil looking paint... I think i just sold 3 of these to myself

You sir are a freak... These are insane especially the first dude.

One small criticism from me. The cloth work on the second chick looks slightly 'busy'. Although in saying this i have thought similar about other figures you have done previously and upon seeing the finished product in the shop this hasn't been the case. Anyways dude well impressive figures my hat goes off to you.

Ki-Adi-Mundi is definitely my favourite of the two- it captures him perfectly; it looks EXACTLY like he does in the movie. :D

Super well done.

I'll accept that.

I rather like the two of them, and I'm not even a hardcore Star Wars fan. I'd paint them just as individual stand alone figures. :D

If you ever see a sculpt of the Senator Palpatine's advisior from Revenge Of The Sith you've got to tell me. It's one of my relative's most famous roles, and she only had one line (if I remember correctly or was it just a nod?) Still I think it would be rather cool to paint it for her.

Thanks guys, great to hear you like 'em! :)

Scott - yeah I know what you're saying; I get carried away with all the folds sometimes, although her robe was pretty folded like that in the photos I got. But I do know what you mean, and maybe I should tone it down a little in future!

loup - haha are you saying your relative actually played the advisor? Cool! Not sure if it will be on Knight Models' list but hey, who knows!

Even when I was a kid she shaved her head, I was told something about her dyeing her hair so much it got horrible and brittle so she shaved it. No hair at her wedding either, but she gets away with it very nicely.

She had to shave the eyebrows off (she had no problem), but the eyelashes she didn't like.

Miniature wise I think the advisor would be interesting, her costume was :D

The first guy was great but I really like Shaak Ti! I think she's my favorite out of the pair. She feels alive even though she's just standing there. I think the robes and the little details are really wonderful and they suit that kind of simple posture really well. The painted version is amazing. If I was your average customer looking at a shelf full of star wars minis I'd definitely be drawn to her.

As a jedi nut with my own force fx sabres i luv em they look really dynamic. But how do u think you could paint the sabres to mimic the real ones....i mean the ones in the film, i have seen a few starwars minis and i haven t really dug how they paint their sabres.

but ur sculpting is fit.....good job
