All these cool looking minis! I am pretty tempted to start collecting some and figure out how to play games. Are these new figures that are being released with new rules? or are they just miniatures that have rules already and are getting minis now?

It is a mix really. Anything released as an 'alternate' already has an existing model. The Avatars are new models for use with a new expansion which is yet to be released, and is being pre-released at Gencon. There are others such as Kaeris and the pigapult which have rules but weren't released yet. Puppet wars (the large group of little models) is for a soon to be released game separate to Malifaux.

Learning the game wise, for me it seems to be an 'easy to learn, hard to master' game. Little rules pop up now and again you weren't aware of previously. It's a fun skirmish game though. If you are going to MOAB after Games Day I'm pretty sure that there is a tournament there for it to see games being played, and I'm sure there will be a few people hanging around happy to demo it briefly.

For anyone interested in the pre-releases (Especially Teddy and Dead Justice, which are event only items), they are available on the Wyrd site now.

HOWEVER - Good luck to anyone who wants to order. There site is so busy it has slowed right down. I've been trying to order stuff since 7.30 tonight, but it does seem to be getting quicker...

If you are pruchasing $100 or more, you are entitled to the free mini.

You would be paying full postage this way, but its worth it.

I'm still not a convert to buy these minis. The only one I like to date has been Pedita.

I think that its just the style, its not that interesting to me, they seem rather sterile and non-engaging. But I must agree that the quality of the sculpts are getting much better though.

I'm with Agent_Venom - I'm not particularly fond of the sculpts. I can't see the fuss over Teddy - he's overly static, although the concept of a homocidal Teddy Bear is great. The only ones I like are Zoraida and the Pandora with kid, and even those I'm hesitant about.

Just ordered the obligatory Con-onlys

Not really a fan of Nightmare Teddy, but dont wanna be caught out and regret not buying him.

Dead Justice is growing on me.

Cant wait for Miss Demeanor... the free mini for purchasing $100 worth of product

Sorry, but my card is stretched to the limit of what I'm willing to spend at the moment, so I can't.

I did manage to log on this morning to get my stuff ordered. Just waiting patiently now. As for the sculpts, it comes down to taste. I don't really like the Alternate Zoraida and a few others in the range. Having said that, I have seen people take the ones I don't like before and do great jobs with them.

I can do that for you, Tim. Are you talking about the Dead Justice box or the single Lady Justice sculpt? I'll do it tomorrow morning.

OK, Tim, I got your Teddy and Justice box. I'll ship them out to you, same as before.
