Hi all,

I have just discovered that beyond the War of the Ring and Movie-related boxed sets that there are quite a few great sculpts for painting from this range.

At present, my favourite is the sculpt of Eowyn carring her helm under her arm:

I believe this to be one of the best feminine facial sculpts that GW has released.

Im not a technical painter, but something in her pose is just so 'right' and she can be modelled upon almost any base as she is not engaging anything 'out of shot'.

I would like to hear what those of you who have painted lotr minis, either for your own games, private collection or Golden Demon entries have to say on this matter.

Thanks,

Cam

I am a big fan of Golem with the fish.

I always loved this mini and never thought someone would paint it, but turns out some one did. Sweet paintjob: http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics15/img4e43003054c04.jpg

Some other nice sculpts are. Sharky, Barrow Wights, Legolas firing his bow on the rock, Arwen on Foot, Galadriel, The Fellowship Borromir, Dalamyr, Denethor to name a few.

Eomer, Marshall of the Riddermark, Cidran and Celeborn are my faves. There was also a really cool box of heroes on foot, but that went OOP yonks ago... Wish they still made it.

EDIT: The Eomer on foot was cool; he was from the Defenders of Rohan box... All the minis in that were really good, actually.

Dances are an important ingredient in painting for GD.

I'll accept that.
