Hi all,

Just trying to upload an image to Coolmini or not (this one)

Image

For some reason it keeps coming out small, even when I've matched resolutions and file sizes to a pic I downloaded of someone elses model to check it against.
Any hints appreciated.
BTW if you voted on it previously please vote again 'cos I accidentally deleted the old listing when trying to change the pic - still a bit of a noob when it comes to coolmini.

Cheers

And the size of the image in pixels or cms is also what you're after? Resolution and file size are independent of image size. If that's okay as well then I'd recommend you contact Chern at CMoN, he's generally very helpful.

A couple I tried were matched in resolution, file size, physical size in pixels etc to an existing image but still uploaded much as you see it here. I'll contact Chern and see what he has to say.

Cheers

That's weird and definitely a new one, the sites had all sorts of funny bugs over the years but I haven't heard of that before... Oh well - hope you can get it sorted soon, as I said in another thread - that's definitely one of the better duel entries I've seen and it should do well on CMoN...

It could be some funky Mac/PC web thingy or maybe something to do with Photoshop CS2. I've popped through a call for help to Coolmini so with any luck it'll get sorted.
In the meantime I'll have to start popping some other stuff up there - now I've started it's kinda hard to stop

make sure it is under 200KB when you save for web on photoshop (i use CS2 as well). if the pic is equal to or over 200KB it screws up. the width can be equal to or less than 600pix wide.

On I tried was 501px wide and 194kb - still uploaded oddly. Could photobucket be affecting it?

Sometimes if you are uploading an image onto photobucket, remove it, and then upload a different image with the same or similar name it will upload the pic that was first uploaded... If that makes any sense. It has happened to me plenty of times, I just changed the file name to something completely different, uploaded it and it fixed itself.
Someone on WAU explained to me why it was doing it but I forgot why

Thanks for the hint. I'll try again and see how it goes.

Ah Ha! Found the problem!
Photobucket was restricting the image size to 800px in the largest dimension so the long "strip pic" so common on coolmini was about 799px x 100px. Just needed to change the image upload option and she looks fine.
This is the link to the new image.

Cheers for the hints!
