Further details:

This cup is straight sided with stitched black leather walls and attached to a wooden base with copper tacks. The design is based on images from various periods. There are very few extant medieval examples of a known dice cup, though there are many references both written and illustrations of the 'gamblers equipment'. Some of the difficulty lies in distinguishing the cup and its use from its surrounds which were often drinking establishments.
