Further details:

Chapes, or strap ends, were attached to the end of the leather straps and belts. Not essential, they provided protection for the end, aided threading through the buckle, as well as being decorative.

Notes; when choosing the chape please ensure that they will fit through the buckle aperture by referring to the compatibility table pdf.
