Where did everything go? Date: 27th October 2008
Evening everybody!

Well, as you may or may not have noticed there doesn't seem to be anything available to purchase. Well this is rumour control; and here are the facts live and direct to you. We have just completed listing all of current book inventory. Small pause for a round of applause and a big pat on the back for Bart.

This is good, this is great, this is fantastic! So where are they all you ask?? Ah well due to global currency fluctuations all of my prices are now obsolete and not by a small amount. This is further compounded due to the site software which unfortunately makes it not a small matter to change prices on all of the product. Especially when we source many items from different parts of the world all with different exchange rates.

Arrgh you say ....... ARRRGH we say! So I am now in the process of starting to recalculate all of the book prices, once this is done I will re list the item at the new and improved price.

One final quick note, there has been a great number of new releases for this month that deserve more time in introducing them. Stay tuned and in the next couple of days I'll give the details for 4 or so fantastic books that have arrived.

Now get thee to a book!

Cheers,

Paul.

What's been happening! Date: 30th September 2008
Well as you may have guessed I have indeed returned from the states. There has been a general running about with me trying to keep the contacts that I've made and laying in new and interesting items.

So what do I have ..... well nothing at the moment because all the goodies are in a banana boat slowly making there way to me. On the site front we are going great guns! The book count is now at over 260 titles and with the addition of a new minion to the team (Hi Bart!) I can only see this accelerating.

So just to give you a very quick run down we now have up our current lists for Costume/Clothing and Textiles; Artefacts; Lifestyle; Hunting; Painting; Jewellery; Games; Medicine; Calligraphy and Illumination; Artists and Bookbinding. So only hundred's of titles to go! Yeah I know get off my ass and get on with it ......

Back to the grind and as always "Good reading to you!"

Paul.

The Conventions Date: 22nd August 2008
Well here I and sitting in my Vegas room trying to get my head around the past few weeks. I started at Pennsic meeting some of my supplier friends and making a whole lot of new ones. So from Pennsic we should see everything from T-shirt to new pewter wares. Gencon, a new experience for me and mind blowing. I have quite a number of new products to showcase but they are going to have to wait until I am not running late for a plane. I try to give you all another update from LA.

Tax is done back to content! Date: 20th July 2008
It's been a while since the last update. Not because of slackness on my part I'm happy to say but due to the evil ATO and its need for copious amounts of paper! It is now done and out of the way and I can get back to the more important things in life, like..... I now have the new soft cover Museum of London books and it looks like I've been able to lower the price there by an average of $40 dollars each. Another couple of new items to grace the list are our elegant eating knives in the Tableware section and if you fancy a dance after dinner we have three new items from Master Del in the Entertainment section that can help you out there. Another local product and a Mainly Medieval exclusive is The Lytel Boke for Children by India Ollernshaw. A masterful examination of the teaching style of the middle ages and the children's stories. I'm not quite sure if I would be comfortable reading them to today's child but it's an excellent book for an adult trying to make sense of medieval man. If this is what they were reared on it does go quite some was to explaining certain actions through history. As they say, give me a child until seven and I will make you the man.

Good Reading!

Well it had to happen ... Date: 23rd June 2008

Ladies and Gents I would like to introduce to you the new credit card payment system which has now been enabled. If you have any suggestion or even minor points that you locate that need repair or improvement please, please drop me a line (sales@mainlymedieval.com).

We are still entering new items to the inventory and I can't see this from stopping for quite some time. 80 odd books are in and only another couple of hundred to go, sigh.

As I have said previously, if there is any item or area that you are interested in let me know and I will try to shift your main area of interest up the ladder on data entry.

Buckle in, wish us luck!

Paul, Loreena and Andrew.

Time goes by .... Date: 18th June 2008

Yes indeed! But we now have another 30 books up for your pleasure and some changes already.

The Museum of London soft covers are still inbound and a couple of interesting new WWI miniatures ranges should be making an appearance soon.

Alas the Book of Sent Sovi however is delayed until September due to some sort of publishing problem. Well we need something to look forward to.

On the site implementation board I have Andrew slaving away on the search feature, killing the American date structure that appears from time to time and enabling the stock count to be visible to you on the item page. Once he's done all that we might look at letting you have your say about a book with a review section in the title information pages. Well that's it for the moment, I'd better get back to grind stone!

Good Reading to you!

Paul.

Welcome to the new website! Date: 7th June 2008
Welcome one and all to the much delayed Mainly Medieval web site. This has been one of those projects where one doesn’t really understand how much has been bitten off until one tries to chew it ….

So what can you expect from us now and in the near future? Our aim is to provide you with the best selection of re-enactment resources here is Australia and New Zealand. I hope to develop for you our reader, a site that while it is a shop can also be looked upon as a research tool.

The book titles are going to be my main focus for the next few weeks and while most of it will be items that we have previously displayed at Rowany Festival we have a number of new titles to feature. Just to give you a taste I now have the entire range from Anglo-Saxon books ready to be entered and I hope to take delivery in the next few weeks of the “Book of Sent Sovi” a Medieval Catalan cooking text along with the reissued titles in the Museum of London series in paperback. If there is a specific title that you are interested in that hasn’t appeared drop me a line (sales@mainlymedieval.com) and I’ll bump it to the front of the queue for data entry.

For the war gamers, the next round of monthly magazines has been ordered and I am looking at introducing two ranges of World War One Miniatures to complement the excellent Warhammer Ancient Battles Great War rules. The prices and range will be up as soon as I take delivery of the first round of stock. Also just in, a fresh stock of sculpting and modeling putties from the US.

So, please join with us as we embark on this new adventure. Who knows where we will end up and what strange fruit it will bear. I can assure you of one thing only and that is we are in for an interesting ride!

Regards,

Paul, Loreena and Andrew.
