Game accessories # 2 ; Dice Cup
Time period: Unknown
Materials: Leather, wood, copper
Product Dimensions: 9.5 cm diameter (mouth) and 6cm diameter at the base x 8 cm height.
This cup has stitched leather walls, attached to a wooden base and based on images from various periods. There are very few extant medieval examples of a known dice cup, though there are many references both written and illustrations of the 'gamblers equipment'. Some of the difficulty lies in distinguishing the cup and its use from its surrounds which were often drinking establishments.
