Quantities of twisted wire hook and eye fasteners are found in unstratified achaeological contexts covering the 12th-18th centuries. Hooks of this type are seen on the doublet of the Ferraran jester Gonella in his portrait by Jean Fouquet, c1445. This size fastener is good for doublets, coats, boots, etc.
